“...We all credit the success of the production to Jamie's abilities as a director, collaborator, teacher, and a colleague who was invested in student success. He never commented on the limitations of our theatre and budget but instead focused on the joy of the opportunity and creative solutions... Jamie is highly creative, has a wonderful easy going personality, he is a confident leader, sensitive listener, result based manager, insightful teacher, and wisely the type of teacher/director that understands the importance and power of being positive and supportive.”
Gage Williams, Former Chair of Theatre Department, University of Utah
“As the Artistic Director/ CEO of the Bush Theatre a new writing venue based in London, we have been both inspired and aware of the work of Jamie Rocha Allan for the past few years. Jamie has dedicated himself to learning and exploring his craft as a Director with some of the foremost Theatre Directors, companies and buildings in our country...I believe it is inevitable that in a few more years Jamie will be running either a building or a middle scale touring company in the UK or the US.”
Madani Younis-Artistic Director, Bush Theatre/Creative Director Southbank Centre
“I originally worked with Jamie in 2007 on Frantic Assembly’s production of Othello...When I decided to rework this production in 2014 Jamie was the first person I got on board. In that time he has grown into a very exciting collaborator. He is just as passionate about Shakespeare and continually demands truth from performers. He possesses the same clarity in his thinking and communication. He has a detailed and nuanced understanding of the text and has a rare mix of authoritative and personable in the room. I found him remarkably generous in the way he would gently suggest things or open up possibilities for actors. I believe this lack of ego will stand him in good stead and make him a much in demand actor’s director.”
Scott Graham, Artistic Director of Frantic Assembly
